Two Arrests in the Aftermath of London Heathrow ‘Pepper Spray’ Incident

The assault caused the partial shutdown of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park.

Two more people are now in custody in connection with a robbery at Heathrow Airport in which 21 people sustained injuries by what is thought to be an irritant spray, as stated by law enforcement.

A man, 24, was arrested in the Lambeth area on suspicion of theft and assault and a 23-year-old woman was arrested for suspected conspiring to commit a robbery. Both individuals remain in custody, the force said.

These detentions follow a probe into an attack at the multi-level parking garage at Heathrow's Terminal 3 on Sunday. Before the attack, a pair of female travelers had stolen from them their suitcases upon exiting a parking garage elevator.

A three-year-old girl was one of the injured during the incident. A total of five individuals were taken to the hospital for medical care and have since been discharged.

Police arrested a 31-year-old man on suspicion of robbery and assault near the location. He was subsequently released under investigation as the investigation proceeds.

Authorities were called at about 08:10 GMT following reports of several people injured by an irritating chemical thought to be pepper spray.

The assault - an event that authorities stated was a standalone incident and not being treated as terrorism - resulted in delays to rail services and the temporary shutdown of the main airport tunnel and the T3 parking facility for a short time.
