Anthony Joshua prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight round match which will be shown live on the streaming platform.
British boxer Anthony Joshua declared he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "overpower" his opponent as the combatants met personally to publicize next month's bout.
Ex twice unified heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua faces social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, theoretically, a mammoth disparity - at Miami's arena on December 19th.
Boxer's Mindset
"I will damage his features and break his body up. I'm here to prove I'm the better fighter," Joshua, 35 years old, stated.
"I'll stamp all over him. That's a fighter's mentality.
"I will seriously aim to cause him pain. That's my goal."
Civil Interaction
Despite those words, a relaxed Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - typically recognized for his theatrics - exchanged pleasantries and remained civil with each other.
Paul instead attacked ex Joshua opponent Francis Ngannou and labeled him "not serious" after the Cameroonian rejected a match opportunity.
Taking Aim at Tyson Fury
Joshua, in the meantime, criticized UK opponent Fury - and rejected a £1m bet 'The Gypsy King' claims he will make on a Paul win.
"Jake Paul outshines Tyson Fury - he's actually sitting here," the boxer commented.
"I respect him for that."
Legitimate Opponent
In spite of declaring he will punish Paul, Joshua chose not to talk badly about his opponent's pugilistic talent.
"Jake is a legitimate boxer," he said.
Paul's History
Jake Paul - who initially became famous on the Disney Channel - has mainly fought MMA fighters or faded names since becoming pro.
He lost to Briton Tommy Fury in 2023.
Commercial Attraction
However, the relative newcomer remains one of boxing's biggest commercial attractions, consistently making massive financial rewards.
Prediction and Belief
The 28-year-old forecast a stoppage in rounds four or five and claimed he would stop the long-awaited Joshua–Fury fight, which is reportedly under discussion for 2026.
"The next fight will be my match with Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul declared.
Size Disparity
As Joshua and Paul met for the customary face-off, with their size difference on show, it emphasized just how improbable this complete situation is - and how astonishing it is that the fight is truly going ahead.
